In 2011, Samata Foundation established Samata Resource Center (SRC), a library consisting of over 1800 collections of books, monographs, historically important documents and articles. It is believed that SRC is of much help especially for researchers, activists, scholars, students, media persons and all those knowledge seekers who are interested in Dalit issues. Anyone with interest in Dalit literature can visit SRC during working days. SRC has a wide range of literatures on Dalit and Social Inclusion issues. Besides, it also has a collection of books on discriminations based on caste and gender published both in Nepal and South Asian Regions. The books are available in Nepali, English and Hindi language. The study materials in SRC are managed with Koha, the integrated library system.
SRC is also connected to several online journals. The reading room is equipped with computers to provide users with access to online resources. The visitors can use the photo copier facility to have pages copied from the library for nominal charge. The SRC also consists of multimedia kits for example, films, documentaries, videos etc.
The Samata Foundation has been purchasing books with financial assistance from various funding partners. It also receives the books from individuals and donor organizations. Thus, SRC humbly requests interested individuals and organizations to donate the books, journals, thesis/dissertations and other relevant documents on Dalit and other marginalized communities across the world to enrich its services.
